The Erosion Control Volunteer Group Erosion Control is one of the important ongoing effort to sustain the trails and path in the South Mountain Reservation. People don't want to walk down a once beautiful trail if it has become muddy, rocky and unattractive. The "Erosion Volunteers" is a group that meets about every two or three weeks for about 3 or 4 hours, usually on a Sunday morning, to work on the drainage problems in the Reservation. Yes, we do heavy stuff like clear culverts, dig ditches, build water bars, but also light tasks like raking leaves, pulling fallen branches, and lopping intrusive/invasive vegetation.
