That's awful!, What a shame! That's dangerous! That's some of things that people say when they are enjoying the beauty of South Mountain Reservation, and then come across trash left by uncaring or careless people.
The Conservancy is committed to stopping all forms of litter and dumping in the Reservation. but there are still spots that need cleanup, and we can never prevent it 100% of the time. That's where you come in. If you can spare 1-3 hours and want to get some fresh air, then join us in the Reservation to do good for yourself and the community you live in. Our programs
are also a good opportunity for teens seeking to do their required community service. "We shall be out there rain or shine," claims Vic Benes, coordinator. "We've already worked with Cub Scout Troops from South Orange,
the "Little Bighorns" from Millburn, and mountain bikers associated with the Millburn Bicycle Shop.
This is a perfect opportunity for those who want to help and can't do the demanding work of the Erosion Volunteers. " What to Bring: A pair of work gloves for safety and comfort. Donations of large trash bags always appreciated. Please note: teenagers below 16 require adult supervision.
