Professionals from Tuff Greens sprayed Japanese knotweed along South Orange Avenue, Brookside Drive, and Crest Drive on July 13 and 14, 2009 as part of the Conservancy’s effort to remove invasive plants and regenerate the natural forest. The chemical used is specially formulated for areas near water. This effort is funded by NJ DEP Recreational Trails and Dept. of Agriculture WHIP grants. The plants are turning brown as the chemical is absorbed into the root system.
