Organized by the volunteers of the South Mountain Conservancy (SMC), it is its largest annual fundraiser. And an opportunity to showcase the beautiful trails which the SMC maintains. With the support of the Essex County Parks Department, these USA Track and Field sanctioned races provide an informal but supportive trail race environment for runners who are up to the challenge of completing 10 or 20-mile distances, or ultra-marathon routes of 50K (31 miles) and 50 miles. For the fourth time a 1-mile race for children under 12 is being offered.
