The Trash Tacklers is a volunteer program of the Conservancy that helps remove garbage from major picnic areas and other places illegally used for dumping in the Reservation. The Conservancy is dedicated to reducing litter and making people’s experience in the Reservation a more enjoyable one. Volunteers meet intermittently April to November and it is often supported by community groups like the Boy Scouts and religious groups. The group often works with the annual Rahway River Cleanup. Volunteers of all ages can assist in this effort, but teenagers below 16 require adult supervision.
If you can spare 1-3 hours and want to get some fresh air, then join us in the Reservation to do good for yourself and your community. Our programs are also a good opportunity for teens seeking to do their required community service.
Gloves and trash bags have been graciously donated by Ricciardi’s Paint.
What to Bring: Donations of large trash bags always appreciated.
